His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 1,169 convicts from correctional and penal institutions in Dubai of various nationalities, on the occasion of the 53rd Union Day. His Highness’s order comes in line with the spirit of the Union and its associated meanings of tolerance and giving, and the keenness to give those included a new opportunity to return to the right path and resume their lives as good people who benefit themselves and their society, within a complete framework of respect for the law that guarantees the security, safety and stability of society with all its components, including citizens, residents and visitors, so that the UAE will always remain a role model in upholding the word of the law and affirming its position as a guarantee that protects the nation’s gains, preserves its capabilities and ensures for all its individuals a safe and supportive environment that enables them to work, innovate and excel. His Excellency Counselor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of the Emirate of Dubai, confirmed the immediate start of coordination with the Dubai Police General Command in order to implement the release order as soon as possible, in a manner that ensures bringing happiness and joy to the families and relatives of those included in the order on this precious national occasion.
