Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives sends emergency humanitarian aid to 250,000 people in Lebanon

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, has directed the provision of urgent food aid to the brotherly Lebanese people, through the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, to help them cope with the difficult humanitarian conditions due to the current events in the sisterly Republic of Lebanon. 250,000 people in Lebanon will benefit from the urgent aid provided by the Foundation, which will be distributed to those entitled to it in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Programme. This urgent aid to the Lebanese people embodies the firm approach of the UAE and the keenness of its leadership since the dawn of its establishment to provide unlimited support to Arab brothers, based on its humanitarian principles and national responsibility. His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, stressed that providing urgent aid to the brotherly Lebanese people is a translation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to stand by our Arab brothers and harness capabilities to meet their basic needs in various circumstances. His Excellency said that the new support provided to our brothers in Lebanon through the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, in cooperation with the World Food Programme, constitutes a continuation of the UAE’s charitable stances and its efforts to launch initiatives aimed at supporting Arab peoples facing crises and humanitarian and living challenges, noting that the Foundation continues to exert efforts and develop its programs, tools and partnerships to implement the visions of the UAE leadership in extending a helping hand to all brothers. The UAE launched, early this October, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, a relief campaign to support the brotherly Lebanese people at the state level, entitled “The UAE is with you, Lebanon,” which will continue until Monday, October 21, with the participation of the community, institutions, and governmental and private bodies.
