President of the Republic of Guatemala, Dr. Alejandro Giamatti, has received Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, at the Presidential Palace here to affirm his support for the Council's role in promoting the values of tolerance and peace around the world. In appreciation of his support for the council, Al-Jarwan presented the Guatemalan president with the commemorative coins issued in celebration of the UAE's 50th Anniversary and in honour of the UAE Founding Fathers. In the meantime, Allan Rodriguez, Speaker for the Parliament of Guatemala, honored Al Jarwan with the Guatemalan Parliament Medal in appreciation of his efforts to promote tolerance and peace around the world. He praised the Council’s role in accelerating international efforts to promote the culture of tolerance and peace. Al-Jarwan appreciated Rodriguez's support for the Council and its goals, expressing his pride of being recognised by the Guatemalan Parliament, a move that, he said, motivates him to further pursue the realization of the goals of tolerance and peace in cooperation with various stakeholders across the world.
